• Peak District's Historic Border Country Walking Festival. Enjoy the Border Country on foot, discovering the pretty village of Ashover, exploring the beautiful bluebell woods around the Linacre Reservoirs, taking in history as you follow Elizabeth Shrewsbury's footsteps round Hardwick Hall or finding out how Whittington is connected to the Revolution of 1688.  Walks range from the challenging 34 mile trek round the countryside surrounding Chesterfield to a short stroll round Pools Brook Country Park and everything in between.  Most of the 38 walks (and 2 cycle rides) are free of charge. • Macmillan Cancer Support's annual Carsington Water walk at 10am. Enjoy an 8 mile walk around an award-winning venue that makes for a fun, full-packed day. People of all ages and fitness levels will love the Carsington Water walk, a beautiful route offering stunning views of the Derbyshire countryside. The walk will start off at the visitor centre at 10am before heading off to enjoy the fantastic views and wildlife. There is a pub en route where you can stop for a well earned break, before making your way back to the restaurant and shops at the visitor centre.Please note, anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no registration fee for people under 16.
If you raise £50 or more you will receive a t-shirt on the day! Please note you will need to bring your sponsorship forms with you on the day.
